Commercial decks need to do more than look good. They need to stand up to frequent use, fit the needs of the property, and continue performing year after year. As a trusted Rochester commercial deck builder, Deck Science combines thoughtful planning, quality materials, and experienced craftsmanship to create commercial outdoor spaces designed with long-term performance in mind.
Our licensed and insured team works closely with property managers, HOAs, board members, apartment and townhome communities, and commercial property owners to understand how each space will be used before construction begins. Whether the project calls for a rooftop deck, community gathering space, outdoor seating area, or another custom deck design, we develop a solution around the property rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
From the initial plans through the final walkthrough, attention to detail is part of the process. We use quality decking and railing products from leading manufacturers and build each project to meet our standards for durability, appearance, and craftsmanship. It’s all part of having commercial decking down to a science.
For commercial properties, choosing a decking material is about more than appearance. It needs to handle frequent use, Minnesota weather, and years of exposure without creating unnecessary maintenance demands. As an experienced Rochester commercial deck builder, Deck Science installs high-quality composite decking that combines long-term durability with the natural look property owners want for their outdoor spaces.
TimberTech is one of our preferred options for commercial decking because of its combination of performance, appearance, and sustainability. Select TimberTech decking is made with up to 85% recycled material and is engineered to resist moisture, fading, staining, mold, and mildew. Depending on the collection, TimberTech decking is also backed by extensive manufacturer warranties, making it a strong option for commercial properties where long-term performance matters.
Every property has different priorities, which is why we are not limited to a single manufacturer. Deck Science works with TimberTech, Trex, and other leading composite decking brands to help property managers, HOAs, board members, and commercial property owners find the right combination of appearance, performance, and value for their project.
With professional installation from Deck Science, composite decking can create an attractive, low-maintenance outdoor space without the regular staining and sealing associated with traditional wood. Composite decking is an excellent option for many commercial applications because it provides durability, consistent appearance, and relatively low maintenance. Deck Science works with TimberTech, Trex, and other leading manufacturers, giving us the flexibility to recommend materials based on the property’s design, expected use, budget, and long-term goals.
Commercial decks often need to accommodate more frequent use and may have different building code, accessibility, safety, and design requirements than residential decks. The project also needs to account for how the space will function within the larger property. Working with an experienced Rochester commercial deck builder helps ensure these considerations are addressed during the planning and construction process.
Most commercial deck projects require permits, although the exact requirements depend on the location, scope, and design of the project. Deck Science understands that permitting is an important part of commercial deck construction and can help navigate the requirements that apply to your project.
Every commercial project is different. The overall timeline depends on factors such as the size and complexity of the deck, material availability, permitting, site conditions, and the scope of construction. Once we understand your project, Deck Science can provide a clearer idea of what to expect and keep you informed throughout the process.
Yes. Composite decking can be particularly well suited for frequently used outdoor spaces because it is designed for durability and requires less routine maintenance than traditional wood. Quality composite products also resist many of the issues associated with moisture, staining, fading, and everyday exposure, making them worth considering for shared commercial spaces.
Yes. Deck Science works with TimberTech, Trex, and other leading decking manufacturers. Rather than limiting every project to one product line, we can help you compare available materials and select an option that complements your property while meeting your expectations for durability, maintenance, appearance, and budget.
Absolutely. Commercial decking does not have to look generic. Deck Science can customize the layout, decking, railings, colors, lighting, privacy features, and other design elements to complement the architecture and character of your property. Our goal is to make the new deck feel like a natural part of the property rather than an afterthought.
Composite decking is popular for commercial properties partly because of its relatively simple maintenance requirements. Routine cleaning to remove dirt and debris is typically the primary upkeep required. Unlike traditional wood decking, composite products do not require regular staining and sealing, which can make maintaining larger or frequently used outdoor spaces easier.
Deck Science provides a 5-year craftsmanship warranty on our deck construction. Material warranties vary by manufacturer and product, with select decking products offering warranties of up to 50 years.
