Joe Averill’s journey into the world of carpentry began at an age when most kids were just discovering hobbies. Starting in his father’s workshop at seven, Joe was surrounded by the sights and sounds of construction from a young age.
He didn’t just observe—he dove in, fine-tuning his skills, learning the intricacies of the trade, and absorbing the lessons his father imparted about craftsmanship and responsibility. As summers came and went, Joe continued to work alongside his father in their family’s commercial construction business, developing not only his technical skills but also a deep-rooted appreciation for hard work and client satisfaction.
By the time he left Saint Johns University in 2019, Joe knew that his calling was to channel his passion for building into something that could make a difference in people’s lives. That’s when he decided to start his own contracting business, which would eventually become Deck Science.
